Work Record Thursday 6th March 2014

Preparation;
The aim for this shoot is to represent fantasy in a more realistic sense through the representation of alter egos. This will then therefore show how people escape from their reality and become someone else.

To Prepare I need to;

  • Get a model
  • Think up poses
  • Decide on what colour background to use

What I hope to achieve;
I hope to achieve is a fun, colourful shoot depicting the idea of alter egos and become someone else.

What I actually achieved;
I achieved a fun, bright and colourful shoot with a wide variety of different poses to get different overall looks. I kept the lighting consistent throughout the shoot with two soft box lights positioned so that I got no shadow and strong colour. When editing, I generally just changed the levels and curves to enhance the image, as I wanted to mainly retain and enhance colour.
 I really like this image due to the composition being entirely filled, and the camera angle looking down slightly making the character appear innocent and happy. When editing this image I just ensured it was as bright as it could be with out loosing necessary shadow to make sure the colours were strong. I also like the pose that is shown as it looks really fun and happy which puts out a positive feeling which is what I wanted to get across in this shoot.
I chose to make these images in different colours as the pose is quite silly and the colours just enhance that and give it a more vibrant edge. I like the composition of the image as the character is dead centre in each and his hand is fairly central making the pose more the focus.

What I am going to do next;
I am really happy with how this turned out, and to develop it I could take photos out on location, such as him interacting with the public or in a forrest.
