Work Record Monday 10th March 2014

Preparation;
The aim of this shoot is to recreate the story of Hansel and Gretel in the form of showing a breadcrumb trail through the forest.

To Prepare I need to;
  • Make sure the day of the shoot has good weather
  • Make breadcrumbs
  • Find a good location in the forest
What I hope to achieve;
A fairy tale inspired nature shoot.

What I actually achieved;
I am relatively happy with what I achieved on this shoot, but it could have gone better. I am happy with the images I got, however, the breadcrumbs should have been bigger and more of them so they are more obvious and stood out more. I am also happy that I got to use a forrest location as I am planning on using a forrest location for one of my exam shoots so I got to look at lighting and plan how a forrest would fit in with my ideas. In terms of shooting, I tried to get a variety of angles and compositions and some worked better than others at showing the theme of the shoot. When editing, I tried over enhancing the colours to make them more vivid and give them a more fairytale/fantasy feel as well as making the breadcrumbs stand out more.
 This is my favourite image from the shoot. I like how full the composition is with the breadcrumbs central, and looking like they disappear as they go back. I also like how green and mossy I made the trees look in contrast the more neutral colours on the ground.

This image although I think is okay, it could do with improving. such as the composition is a bit empty, and the breadcrumb trail should be slightly more central as well. In terms of editing, I think the contrast works as it enhances and puts more focus on the trail, however some areas look too dark and red.

What I am going to do next;
Although I am not overly happy with this shoot, I am not going to revisit it. However, I am going to work on the idea of a forrest for location.
