This image is something that I want to develop myself as it creates a link between fantasy and reality. This image is also really simple, with a good composition as the model goes across the central composition and the story book is dead central.
This image relates to fantasy due to the petal eyelashes and different makeup which creates a strange, fantasy look. What makes this image work is the position of the model and how she is wide eyed and looking away at something further on than the camera.
This image strongly relates to the idea of fantasy and relies a lot on photoshop techniques to place the girl on the flower. I like how bright this is and sparkly which adds to and emphasises the fantasy/fairy aspects.
This image showing the idea of mermaids works well as there is a strong composition with the mermaid going across the central portion of the image. I also like the contrasting bright and dark colours of the sky and sea.
I really like the idea behind this image, and is something I would be interested in recreating or taking a few ideas from. What stands out most in this to me is the use of colour, and how bright the flowers are in comparison to the girl who is generally paler.
This is a really classic depiction of Snow White, and thats what I like about it. The apple is just off centre and clearly in focus due to the fact the model is slightly out of focus. What is eye catching about this is the blood red colour scheme which gives the idea a more gothic feel.
This is a really simple, creative and fun idea which reminds me of fairytales such as Wizard of Oz due to the use of signs. This incorporates various ideas into one simple and effective image. What i like most is the colours which give the image a more surreal feel linking it closer to fantasy.
This is a really good image which shows the idea of Alice in Wonderland with a trippy feel due to the blurred effect which creates a feel of movement.
This image is showing the idea of Aladdin in a more luxurious way. What I like about this image is the carpet and how it looks like it is moving making the image look more realistic adding to the fantasy look. I also like the composition as the models and carpet are central.
I like this image as it is showing a story with the use of props and strong, recognisable location. Although the model is just of centre, it is clear she is the focal point due to her pose and how she is in the foreground.
What catches my eye most with this image is the fact the model looks upside down and there is a mess of cards around her which plays effectively on the idea of Alice in Wonderland. I also really like the bright, strong clashing colours in this as well which works well with the Alice in Wonderland idea.
I like this visual representation of the idea of children being scared of monsters under the bed as the vintage furniture and the off yellow tones give it a sickly, creepy feel that without, the image would not work.
This image I like as it is a dark take on realistic issues - being a puppet and doing what others want. This means this image has strong links to both the idea of reality and fantasy. I like how it is set on a stage, yet given the effect that it is outside due to the clouds.
This very simple image can be related to the idea of fantasy from a realistic, nature angle. The colours and soft light in this is what gives it the fantasy, dream like feel which is what I like about the image.
I really like this image and how simple it is, with the only thing making it stand out as fantasy being the elf ears. I also like how the composition for this image is slightly unconventional with the model facing the edge making it look constrained as well as the face the focal point does not fall central.
This modern day take on rapunzel is an image I really like as it give the idea a high fashion, glossy magazine effect - like something you'd see in Vogue. I really like how exactly central everything in this composition is, right down to the hair braid being exactly central.
I really like this still life idea, as it is giving the impression that the image is coming to life straight from the book. I also think that the light and shadow created by the shapes gives the image more depth and an overall more interesting appearance.
This I found really interesting, as most fantasy photography uses past ideas or mixes the past with the present. This idea instead looks at the idea of fantasy from a futuristic perspective. One thing other than the idea that I like is how well form and tone is represented in this image.
I really like how flawless this image is, with the model almost resembling a doll. I also really like how she fills up the entire composition, which emphasizes her importance. I added this image as I like how its showing period clothing as well as the idea of hiding behind a mask which both fit into the idea of fantasy.
